We have had reports of users being unable to launch the game, and occasionally this is caused by the user’s RAM being overclocked.
On some older graphics cards or integrated graphics cards, (such as Intel HD 4400 and 5500) occasionally cubes will seem to disappear. They are still there, and you can interact with them, but you can’t see them.
These cards don't support the rendering method we use for cubes and water. This method allows us to render multiple instances of the object (the original, and the other versions of it in the repeated worlds)
The first thing to try is to update your graphics driver. This is going to be the solution in 80% of the cases.
If this doesn't work, you might have a GPU that is below spec.
There is a workaround you can do to enable the renderer on the cube (PC only):
~
or `
to bring up the debug console. (This might be different if you have a keyboard layout different than the typical Latin alphabet one)toggle_slow_draw
If this fixes the issue for you, you can set “slow draw” to always be on by editing your settings file:
slowdraw 0
slowdraw 1
This should enable the alternate rendering permanently for you.
These range from causing menus to scroll down, unintended player strafing, and even stalling on a loading screen. Here is a workaround we’ve developed to help with the issue.
keyboardOnly 1
xboxOnly 1
playstationOnly 1

If any of the above fixes do not work for you, try unplugging any flight / drive sim controllers from your machine before launching Manifold Garden.
Especially Avast Antivirus. Avast can trigger a false positive on Manifold Garden.exe under the warning "IDP.Generic", when quitting the game. We've submitted a "false positive" report for Manifold Garden to Avast. This is quite a common issue. Here's a post in Steam Support. To add an exception for Manifold Garden to Avast:
Apple Arcade is Apple’s subscription gaming service. You can play Manifold Garden on all Apple Arcade supported iOS, macOS and tvOS devices for free with an Apple Arcade subscription. Manifold Garden supports cross-saves amongst all Apple Arcade devices.
Unfortunately if you're playing the game on iPhone, iPad or AppleTV, there isn't an easy way to get the save file from those devices.
Since you're using Apple Arcade, if you have a Mac Book or an iMac, you can open the game there and access the synced save on MacOS. You would just follow the steps listed above in the MacOS section.
We understand that this is quite inconvenient and not ideal, but we appreciate your help in tracking down and fixing bugs.
Note: You may have to unhide your Library folder. To do this, you will want to search online “how to unhide user library” + your macOS version.
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers/Manifold Garden/Data/Library/Application Support/garden.manifold.manifoldgardenmacos
You might see a folder with a name like "/Tcd734e0064698c9bad3e3377eb93f15c"
The save files will be named
SaveSlot1.data
SaveSlot2.data
SaveSlot3.data
The settings file will be named Settings.txt
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers/Manifold Garden/Data/Library/Logs/William Chyr Studio/Manifold Garden/
The log file will be named Player.log
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers/Manifold Garden/Data/Library/Application Support/garden.manifold.manifoldgardenmacos/
The settings will be named Settings.txt
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Containers/Manifold Garden/Data/Library/Application Support/garden.manifold.manifoldgardenmacos/Pictures/
The tvOS version of Manifold Garden does not save locally to your device. An internet connection is required to save the game. Your saved games will be stored to your Game Center account, and can be accessed on your other Apple Arcade devices

If you get stuck, and need to rewind your progress a bit, you can press the “Restore” button next to a save file to continue from a previous save in the same file. This will delete all progress after that point.
The Load Game screen includes a restore feature which allows you to continue from a previous checkpoint in your save file. This will delete all progress after that point.
The Restore feature will save a few of the most recent save. Loading one of these will bring you back to a previous save, but this will delete all progress after that point.
If you get stuck, take a moment to slow down and observe the world around you. You will be sure to notice something important. We have provided a walkthrough for your convenience. Please feel free to use it.
Spoilers! https://manifold.garden/walkthrough
From the Load Game Screen, select the “Restore” icon on the save profile you want to edit. A list of save checkpoints that you previously reached will appear. Select the checkpoint you want to revert to. The previous checkpoint will be loaded, overwriting the save so you can continue progressing.
This is sometimes caused by a bug associated with older and/or integrated graphics cards (such as Intel HD 4400 and 55). The first thing you should do is upgrade your drivers.
If updating your drivers does not solve the issue, press the ~
or `
key to open the in-game command console, and type in toggle_slow_draw
This should correct the cube rendering for the duration of your playthrough.
The location is different based on your platform. Please refer to previous section to find save locations for each platform.
For Windows:

Do you have a flight / drive sim controller plugged in? We've had a few reports of flight / drive sim controllers (rudder pedals, throttle, racing pedals, etc) causing issues. These range from causing menus to scroll down, unintended player strafing, and even stalling on a loading screen.

Manifold Garden is available on all Apple Arcade devices (this includes macOS) with an Apple Arcade subscription. At the moment, we do not plan to bring Manifold Garden to macOS via Steam.
At the moment, we do not plan to bring Manifold Garden to Linux. However, we have had reports that Manifold Garden runs well when played using Proton on Linux https://www.protondb.com/

Unfortunately the source tracks were corrupted, and this is a known issue with every copy of the CD
Manifold Garden’s graphics programmer, Arthur Brussee, gave an excellent talk at the SIGGRAPH conference about how we built the game’s infinite world and visual style. You can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VozHerlOQw
Manifold Garden supports English, French, Canadian French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
Manifold Garden does not officially support VR. While it will not be impossible to do, it would be a major undertaking which would involve significant redesigns to movement and controls.
Some people do experience motion sickness when playing Manifold Garden. Here are some tips that can help:
In the "Settings" page, under "Gameplay", you can enable colorblind mode, which allows you to shift the colors in the game to something that is more suitable for you. We worked with a number of playtesters who are colorblind to help us provide the most accessibility possible. Colorblind mode allows for a wide range of customization.
